The event starts off with downhill skiing at the top of Red Chair, Mount Bachelor, then racers exchange hands with cross country skiers at the West Village Lodge area.  Cross country leg is about 5 miles.  Then it's off with the biker's for a 22-mile downhill bike ride into Bend.  Runners take it from there and run along the scenic trail of the Deschutes River spanning 5 miles to meet the river-runners.  An approx 1.5 mile down-river and then 1/2 mile upriver stage with a canoe or kayak is the last big stretch. The race completely ends with a short sprint across the finish line in Drake Park.

Teams competing consist of various expertise, from high-school kids, to age groups of 65-90 year olds!  So have no fear of your abilities.

Day-long events at Drake park include much food, music, a beer garden and sponsor booths.

Our early fee deadline is May 1st, and entries must be postmarked by May 10th.

Fees: $32 per individual, OR $22 per team member if we have enough people to complete our own team.

Ron Jr. has a canoe and gear for two paddlers, and everyone else will need to provide their own equipment for skiing and your own two legs for the run.  Ron also has a mountain racing bike if someone is careful with it, but a street racing bike would be more beneficial and faster to ride on the street.

If you want to join the Catholic WestSide team (team name temporary, to be decided by team members), e-mail ronjr@jps.net with which legs of the race you would be interested in and/or capable of doing.  (I'm waiting for the entry form plus official rules to be sent to me)

More info available from race officials: call (541)388-0002; e-mail: mbsef@bendnet.com or check their site, www.bendnet.com/ppp

Looking forward to the upcoming years!
Come watch and support the team!

If many more people want to join, a second team can be formed.  1 person minimum, 7 maximum per team.  Respond soon so we can hook you up.
